Young Climate Change and Health Researchers Network (YCCHRN)
The Young Climate Change and Health Researchers Network is an international, interdisciplinary network of early-career researchers working at the intersection of climate change and health. YCCHRN aims to connect young scholars from diverse disciplines—including public health, medicine, epidemiology, environmental sciences, social sciences, and related fields—and to foster scientific exchange across national and disciplinary boundaries.
Within the frame of the IECCCH, the young generation’s network is set to provide a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and capacity building within and among the next generation of researchers. It supports its members through dedicated online sessions and workshops, peer-mentoring opportunities, and joint research initiatives (e.g. joint master thesis or PhD projects). A particular focus is placed on promoting innovative, transdisciplinary approaches and strengthening research capacity in low- and middle-income countries. Through this, YCCHRN will contribute to making evidence-based challenges and potential solutions to the health challenges of climate change more visible and impactful.
In addition, the network may serve as a collective voice for early-career researchers in global climate change and health discourses. It especially encourages the dialogue between science, policy, and the younger generations.
The Young Climate Change and Health Researchers Network stands for openness, diversity, and global collaboration, united by the shared goal of advancing research for a healthier and more sustainable future.
